Praise as sacrifice (Heb 13:15) and as a
continual duty and privilege (I Thess 5:16 ff.;
Rev 4:8) is a New Testament theme,
The NT hymns of praise center around
redemption in Christ (Lk 1:46–55,
68–79; 2:13 f. Eph 1:3–14; Col 1:18–20; Rev 5:9–14; 7:10–12),
although God’s being (Rev 4:8) and creative work (Rev 4:11; Col
1:15–17) are not forgotten.
Moreover, Christians are encouraged to
make their whole lives and conduct a form of praise to God

The Path to
Godliness Leads through the Valley of Suffering |

1 Corinthians 12:26-27 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.

Rejoice in
the midst of Sufferings |
|
1 Corinthians 12:26-27 And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it. 27 Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually.
1 Peter 1:6-7 In
this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary,
you have been grieved by various trials,
7 so that
the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold
that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to
result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of
Jesus Christ. |
