It is God’s design for local churches
of like precious faith to be actively involved in fellowship and
mutual support with one-another, regardless of their geographical
location.
The image of the body presented in the epistles represents the
relationships which should exist at all levels of Christianity.
It is God’s design for believers
in a particular local church, for local churches in an area, for
local churches in a region, for local churches in a region of a
country, for local churches in a particular country, and for local
churches of like precious faith on a global scale to be actively
involved in fellowship and mutual support with one-another.
The following definition will assist the reader to gain a better
understanding of both the term and the exegetical analysis of the
passages.
"The Global Church"
The term
"Global Church"
describes a definable group of local churches which have
acknowledged the mutual commitment they have to minister to one
another on a corporate and global scale.
The churches are linked by their
common commitment to a stated theological position.
While there is no
formal organizational structure, they have agreed to fellowship with
one another in an informal relationship for the purpose of advancing
the cause of Christ globally.
The scope of a particular Global
Church Partnership movement is limited by the foundational doctrinal
statement.
There are many manifestations of
the Global Church Partnership, each based on a particular
theological or hermeneutical position. |

The Path to
Godliness Leads through the Valley of Suffering |
|
1 Peter 4:12-13 Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; 13 but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy.

Rejoice in
the midst of Sufferings |
|
1 Peter 1:6-7 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, 7 that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ,.
1 Peter 1:6-7 In
this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary,
you have been grieved by various trials,
7 so that
the tested genuineness of your faith--more precious than gold
that perishes though it is tested by fire--may be found to
result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of
Jesus Christ. |

The Body |
|
Romans 12:4-5 For as in one body we have many
members, and the members do not all have the same function, so
we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually
members one of another. |
